Uthra Kodiyalam, MD

Dr. Uthra Kodiyalam is a board-certified internist who has been practicing in the Springfield area of New Jersey for the past 22 years.

While both her interest and her area of practice were initially focused on the medical management of chronic diseases, they have now evolved to include disease prevention and reversal strategies.

Over the years, she has come to observe the severe impact that unwholesome lifestyle choices have had on patients’ overall wellness and on their chronic health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep disorders, depression, and anxiety.

For this reason, she practices a collaborative style of care wherein patients are encouraged to assume primary ownership of their health by cultivating healthy and sustainable long-term lifestyle practices as a supplement to medical management. She empowers her patients by providing them with education, guidance, and support around these topics.

Dr. Kodiyalam specializes in weight management and in chronic disease management, while utilizing a lifestyle medicine approach to help patients attain whole-person-wellness.
