Kristina Flores has 10 years of experience as a nurse practitioner and specializes in geriatric psychiatry. She initially started out in adult medicine and, by chance, was exposed to the psychiatric conditions in long-term care settings. "I loved it so much that I decided to go back to school and get my post-master’s in psychiatry," she said. "It was very rewarding to see how a patient’s mental health improved their overall well-being and I wanted to continue dedicating my work in this vulnerable population. Also, having both a medicine and psychiatric background helps me see my patients more holistically."
