Brent D. Wainwright, MD, FAAD

Dr. Wainwright, MD completed an internship in internal medicine at Norwalk Hospital, an affiliate of Yale University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed a research fellowship in Immunodermatology at New York University Medical Center. As recipient of a prestigious National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health, he worked to develop improved diagnostic methods to monitor malignant melanoma. His research was followed by a residency in dermatology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine where he served as Chief-Resident. Dr. Wainwright has a special interest in pigmented lesions (moles, melanoma) and has supplementary training in dermoscopy, a painless and noninvasive technique used to help dermatologists better visualize pigmented skin lesions. He is a former attending physician at the Pigmented Lesion Clinic at NYU Medical Center. Dr. Wainwright holds a faculty appointment at the New York University School of Medicine. He is Board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and, a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. His original papers have been printed in several scientific journals including Archives of Dermatology, the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, and, the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Wainwright is a recipient of the Fred Wise, MD Award by the New York Academy of Medicine, and, a two-time recipient of the part-time teaching attending of the year award recognizing his dedication to teaching junior doctors at New York University. Prior to joining the Mount Kisco Medical Group Dr. Wainwright worked in private practice in Westchester and New York City. Through work with the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Wainwright has served several corporate clients including Revlon, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Proctor & Gamble, and Major League Baseball. Dr. Wainwright practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology including Botox and fillers.
