Steven J. Weiss, M.D., Ph.D. serves as Associate Chair, Department of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Weiss is a board certified Pediatric and Adult Allergist. He specializes in taking care of patients with food allergies, including treatment with food oral immunotherapy. He also cares for patients with environmental allergies, such as hay fever, rose fever and dust mites, drug allergies, contact allergies, asthma, hives, eczema and recurrent sinus problems. Dr. Weiss received his MD-PhD degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in 1991. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Long Island Jewish Hospital where he received the Samuel Karelitz Intern of the Year Award for Clinical Acumen, Diligence and Humanity. He subsequently completed his fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at Long Island Jewish Hospital. Dr. Weiss served on staff at Long Island Jewish Hospital for several years as an Attending in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He then went into private practice while continuing his ties to Long Island Jewish Hospital and North Shore University Hospital by teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Dr. Weiss is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Hofstra University School of Medicine. Dr. Weiss has had the honor of being listed as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor every year since 2015. Dr. Weiss is a Past-President of the Long Island Allergy and Asthma Society. Dr. Weiss is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
