Dr. Sana Trovato received her doctorate in podiatric medicine from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She completed a comprehensive three-year forefoot and rearfoot surgical residency program at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, New York, a teaching affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Trovato received extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including trauma, reconstructive surgery, and diabetic limb salvage as well as elective surgery. During her time there, she completed research on limb salvage rates following revascularization in the Bronx population. She also completed a dermatopathology Fellowship in her final year. Dr. Trovato has been a native of the New York and New Jersey area her whole life. She attended the prestigious Bronx High School of Science and moved on to complete her undergraduate degree at Stevens Institute of Technology, where she majored in Chemical Biology and minored in History. Having suffered from many lower extremity and foot problems during her adolescent years, Dr. Trovato developed a passion for healing people and helping them with their pain at an early age. She spent many hours volunteering in different hospital settings in NY and NJ. She is now proud to serve patients at Optum. As a podiatrist, Dr. Trovato is proficient in all aspects of foot and ankle medicine and surgery including but not limited to sports medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, heel pain, foot deformities, joint dysfunction, nail ailments, warts, and more. Dr. Trovato believes in taking an individualized approach to optimizing her patients and helping them meet their goals and be pain free. She strives to exhaust every treatment option to help her patients get back on their feet as quickly as possible. Dr. Trovato is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She is also a Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons and American College of Podiatric Medicine.
