Mashenda Green’s first love is nursing. She has been a nurse for over 24 years. She enjoys the ability to combine her passion for caring for patients, intertwined with her love for the sciences, and desires to constantly learn and grow. She started her career at the College of New Jersey where she graduated with a bachelor's in nursing with a minor in Psychology. Her first job was working on Child/Adolescent Inpatient unit where her curiosities soon drove her to want to expand her role and learn other parts of the mental health field. This led to also getting experience in group homes, intensive outpatient programs, and residential treatment facilities. These experiences opened her eyes to the need for the youth to see someone that they could relate to and understand their wants and needs in their journeys in becoming their whole selves. The best way to accomplish this feat was to go back to graduate school where she earned her master's degree in nursing from Rutger's University formerly UMDNJ with a focus on Child Adolescent Psychiatry.
Mashenda has been an Advanced Practice Nurse and Prescriber since 2007 and has been with Optum (formerly Riverside medical Group) since 2019. She worked in several different capacities in management while maintaining developing relationships with families and children.
Mashenda diligently and passionately strives every day to assist families in realizing their potential, finding their voices, and managing their mental health needs by providing thorough evaluations, prescribing to minimize symptoms and building professional relationships with her clients and families. She partners with amazing therapists, state agencies, and schools in achieving these goals. Mashenda continues to strive to ignite passion in the mental health and is looking forward to the years of its continued growth.
