Jonathan Naysan, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship specialization in retina and vitreous diseases. He performs general eye exams and treats all eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye disease, and others. In addition, Dr. Naysan is specially trained in retina conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular diseases, floaters, central serous retinopathy, and inflammatory eye diseases.
Dr. Naysan obtained his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) society. Dr. Naysan completed his internship and Ophthalmology residency at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, where he had the honor of being named Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Naysan went on to complete a fellowship in retina and vitreous diseases with the Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of NY (VRMNY) through New York University (NYU) and Northwell Health Systems. He had the privilege of learning under world-renown retina specialists Dr. Lawrence Yannuzzi and Dr. K Bailey Freund.
Dr. Naysan has been featured in numerous research publications. He has given lectures and presentations at national meetings. He is a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology with affiliation at both New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and New York University (NYU). He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
