Dr. Hiren Patel is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon, caring for adult and pediatric patients. He specializes in advanced techniques such as minimally invasive surgery, artificial disk replacement, and the treatment of back and neck injuries, as well as complex and revision surgeries. Notably, he cares for children with scoliosis using advanced non-fusion methods such as vertebral body tethering, always prioritizing personalized and compassionate care.
Dr. Patel completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Pennsylvania. He then pursued a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center. His training continued with fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania for complex spine surgery and at Shriners Hospital for Children Philadelphia for pediatric spinal deformity and scoliosis.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Patel is affiliated with Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, Westchester Medical Center and Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, and AO Spine.
Fluent in English and Gujarati, Dr. Patel is dedicated to understanding and helping his patients achieve their health goals through attentive and empathetic care.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling to explore historic sites and experience the natural beauty of the world. During his college years, he was a member of a nationally competitive dance team and rowed crew.
