About Provider Beth Sherry, MD:

Dr. Sherry is a board-certified internal medicine physician with expertise in heart disease prevention. She is certified in clinical lipidology, which involves managing patients with high cholesterol using both lifestyle modifications and medications. She is passionate about comprehensively evaluating all aspects of cardiovascular health and partnering with her patients to reduce their cardiovascular risk.

A Westchester native, Dr. Sherry returned to the area to complete her medical school training at New York Medical College in Valhalla. She completed her internal medicine residency at New York University (NYU) Langone Health, during which time her clinical, research, and personal experiences inspired her to pursue a fellowship in preventive cardiology at NYU. Through her fellowship she learned from experts in the field and gained specialized training in the complexities of cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, and weight management.

Dr. Sherry strives to develop trusting relationships with her patients through careful listening, individualized counseling, and evidence-based recommendations. She takes great pleasure in cooking heart-healthy meals and exercising regularly, and hopes to use her own passion for prevention to empower patients to improve their heart health.

Dr. Sherry provides personalized treatments for patients who may need special preventive heart care, such as:

  • Patients with very high cholesterol levels that run in their family or other rare cholesterol conditions.
  • Patients with coronary artery disease (narrowed or blocked heart arteries) or diabetes who have difficulty controlling their cholesterol levels.
  • Patients with a higher risk of heart problems due to a specific type of cholesterol called lipoprotein(a).
  • Patients with side effects from cholesterol lowering medications.
  • Patients with a significant family history of heart disease.
  • Patients with very high blood pressure that is difficult to control despite being on multiple medications.
  • Patients who want to talk to another doctor for more information about their heart health.

Alert: If you are experiencing any cardiac symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath or palpitations, please seek urgent/emergency care or schedule an appointment with general cardiology.
