Dr. Amit Dholakia develops a practical approach to treating patients suffering from acute or chronic pain through interventional techniques utilizing fluoroscopy and ultrasound. With his experience in pain management and continuing interests in new technology, he explores all available treatments. He performs epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, sacroiliac joint injections, peripheral joint injections, trigger point injections and platelet rich plasma therapy. After completing a combined Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Osteopathy program, with honors, at New York Institute of Technology/New York IT College of Osteopathic Medicine, he then completed his residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Dholakia pursued a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Pain Management at the prestigious Rothman Institute affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University and received additional training in medical acupuncture at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Dholakia is board certified in pain medicine as well as in physical medicine and rehabilitation and he is an active member in a number of professional societies. When he is not working, Dr. Dholakia enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, working out at the gym and playing basketball. He is also trying to improve his golf game as well as his culinary skills.
