Yakov Shaulov, MD
Dr. Yakov Shaulov is a board certified neurologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders. His expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions, including Parkinson's disease, atypical Parkinsonian syndromes, essential tremor, gait abnormalities, chorea, tics, dystonia, restless legs syndrome, ataxia, myoclonus, and other movement disorders.
After completing his neurology residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA, Dr. Shaulov further honed his skills through a movement fellowship at Northwell Health in New York.
With a strong foundation in general neurology, Dr. Shaulov brings a comprehensive approach to patient care. He is particularly experienced in offering specialized services, including adjustment of deep brain stimulation for patients with Parkinson's and dystonia. Additionally, he offers evaluations for candidacy in cutting-edge treatments such as focused ultrasound and levodopa pump surgeries.
Dr. Shaulov is well-versed in administering botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for various conditions affecting the face, neck, and extremities. These treatments effectively address issues such as facial blepharospasm, sialorrhea (drooling), cervical dystonia, muscle spasticity resulting from stroke, and migraines.
