Oren Ambalu, MD

Dr. Oren Ambalu received his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his residency in Anesthesiology and fellowship in Pain Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Prior to joining Optum, formerly CareMount Medical, Dr. Ambalu was a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Dr. Ambalu specializes in interventional treatment for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint pain. Some treatments offered include:

• Epidural injections
• Facet/medial branch blocks
• Radiofrequency ablation
• Spinal cord stimulation
• Fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided joint injections and nerve blocks
• Trigger point injections
• Botox
• Platelet rich plasma (PRP)

Dr. Ambalu practices at Optum’s Poughkeepsie Oakwood, Jefferson Valley, Lake Katrine (Kingston), and Fishkill Westage locations. He performs procedures in Optum’s Poughkeepsie Oakwood and Fishkill Westage procedure suites. Dr. Ambalu is accepting new patients and offers both in-person office visits and virtual telehealth visits.
