Elizabeth Mathew, MD, FAAP, graduated from residency in 2017 from the Brooklyn Hospital Center and has been working with Riverside/Optum since March of 2018. She became a pediatrician because she wanted to help people and make a difference in the lives of children. She has a passion for patient advocacy, helping parents understand preventative medicine, and counseling on mental health issues. She sees children from newborns to 21 years of age.
Dr. Mathew believes in always advocating for her patients, listening to parent concerns, and helping to educate parents regarding their child's illnesses so they can make decisions together. As a mother of two small toddlers, she understands the anxiety that can come along when a child is sick and is here to ease those concerns and help parents navigate difficult times in their child's lives. She is also an advocate of maternal mental health and post partum depression and making sure that mothers of newborns are screened and offered services and support when needed.
