Dr. Andrew Caronia is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with extensive experience in Urgent Care, hospital medicine, and primary care. He has served as a full-time Family Medicine faculty member at New York Medical College where he was responsible for resident education, outpatient precepting, and inpatient service attending, including pediatric, prenatal, and behavioral health care.
Dr. Caronia has also worked in hospital medicine, managing patients in both open ICU settings and inpatient psychiatry units. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he provided critical care in the ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital.
In addition to his hospital work, Dr. Caronia has been actively involved in urgent care, serving as a provider at CityMD and completing an Urgent Care fellowship. His procedural competencies include laceration repair, incision and drainage, orthopedic splinting, intubation, central lines, emergency radiology, and EKG interpretation.
Dr. Caronia holds a full New York State Medical License and is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is certified in BLS and ACLS and has advanced proficiency in Spanish and Italian. He has a strong interest in the BioPsychosocial model, behavioral medicine, integrative medicine, and psychiatry, particularly in psychodynamics and psychoanalysis.
