Dr. Alexander Hoberman is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. His clinical focus is on caring for athletic and every-day injuries and getting his patients back to the demands of their activities.
Dr. Hoberman is trained in complex arthroscopy, reconstruction and cartilage restoration procedures of the knee, shoulder, elbow, hip, and ankle. He also performs joint replacements of the shoulder, hip and knee, and treats fractures of the upper and lower extremities.
Dr. Hoberman completed his undergraduate education at Emory University where he graduated with honors and as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he graduated at the top of his class and received professional honors in leadership. Dr. Hoberman went on to complete his Orthopedic residency training at the prestigious NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in New York City. Following residency, Dr. Hoberman completed his sports medicine fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Hoberman has served as the assistant team physician for the New York Jets as well as the NFL scouting combine. In addition to professional sports, he has covered a wide range of collegiate sports including division one athletics. A special interest of Dr. Hoberman has been caring for local high school athletes to help them achieve their athletic goals during and beyond their high school years.
