A Bronx native, Aja graduated from the Pace University/Lenox Hill Hospital physician assistant program in 2009. She acquired her first position with a NYC dermatology practice affiliated with NYU. There, she diagnosed and treated various dermatological conditions and gained cosmetic experience with cosmetic fillers, Botox, glycolic acid chemical peels, and laser hair removal. In addition to her office contributions, she would provide skin cancer screenings for various corporate locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn including Chase Morgan Stanley.
With aspirations to expand upon her clinical experience, Aja soon transitioned over to an OB/GYN practice with offices in both the Bronx and Yonkers affiliated with Lawrence hospital. She specialized in providing annual gynecological care as well as routine and high-risk prenatal care. She performed various procedures such as cervical biopsies, STD screening, cryotherapy, ultrasound interpretations, and IUD insertions. After several years with the practice, she returned to NYC and joined an orthopedic/sports medicine group in 2014 on the east side. She quickly adapted to her new role in pain management and ortho, performing viscosuppliment joint injections, trigger point injections, interpreting various imaging results, such as CT/MRIs, and building strong professional relationships with various surgeons in Manhattan.
Aja is now a Putnam resident, mother of 4, and prides herself in taking a compassionate approach to quality patient care. In her free time, she and her husband volunteer at their local fire department in providing emergency medical services to her community. She has been described as personable, skillful, and kindhearted. She goes above and beyond for her patients and makes sure each person feels cared for and confident in their provider.
She continues to play an active role in the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
